Constitution Day 2019
“Constitution morality is not a natural sentiment. It has to be cultivated.”
The existence and successful survival of Democracy ‘in such diverse conditions is the most celebrated fact about our country with constitution as its backbone. To reinforce the significance and importance of constitution the Government of India declared 26th of November as Constitution Day in remembrance of the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar.
The occasion was also celebrated in the premises of New Horizon Gurukul in all its solemnity. It was marked by the conduct of a ‘Special Assembly’ by the students of the school. The celebration started with a meaningful thought from Chanakya niti giving insights into administration.
A speech by grade 10th student on our constitution took everyone on a journey of our constitution from its inception to its present day form and its vital role to cultivating an idea of one nation. After that, a song was presented by Hruthi C, Nathania Lajji, Ananya Deshpande, Tara P and Akanksha about the importance of Our Constitution which was composed by them. A panel discussion was also conducted on the fundamental duties and fundamental rights of Indian citizens followed by an oath on preamble by the students. The assembly ground echoed with the words.In her address to students, Principal , NHG stressed upon fundamental duties and their importance before we fight for our fundamental rights. Quoting various examples, she gave an insight to the essence of democracy and constitution. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
