To salute the paramount position of a mother in the world , to uphold the divinity of each woman and to celebrate the truest essence of being a woman New Horizon Gurukul organized Matruvandana conclave on 25 February, 2017,in collaboration with theHindu Spiritual and Service Foundation.
The programme was chaired by:
- Dr. Arathi V.B, a scholar in Sanskrit and Indian Studies. She is also aBehavioural and soft skills trainer at ACT.
- Sri Manjunathji, who is a senior social worker , specialist in Ayurveda and helps in guiding theHindu Spiritual and Service Foundation ( HSSF ) organizing team
- Ms. Parimala Murthy, programme director of DISHA organization and an active member of HSSF organizing committee.
- Ms. Sargam Manghnani, Director, New Horizon Gurukul.
The programme began with school choir invoking the blessings of lord Ganesha through the school payer ‘Gananayakayganadaivatayaganadhyakshaydheemahi’
Next, Ms. Parimala Murthy briefed the audience about Hindu Spiritual and Service Foundation – its pre-fair and post- fair programmes and the different themes of the fair. On this occasion, the meritorious deeds and noble gestures of our Chairman , Dr Mohan Manghnani was mentioned, who is an ardent promoter of HSSF and also, the Vice President of the HSSF Reception Committee.
The speaker of the day Dr Arathi V B , also,a wellknown orator and founder of VibhaFoundation, addressed the gathering. The importance of being culturally rooted to our motherland and the significance of belonging to a land where great warriors like Shivaji and Tejabhai lived was extolled in her speech. Thespeaker celebrated through various allusions, references and anecdotes the eternal bliss of being a divine mother.
Following the thought provoking sharing of profound knowledge , Ms. Parimala Murthy explained with utmost simplicity and austerity, the process of performing Matruvandana, to students and mothers who were present. The students with purity in mind and devotion inheart worshipped their mothers repeating the slokas along with.
The remarkable event culminated with the wonderful words of Ms. Sargam Manghnani who spoke about the increased responsibility of the children towards their parents in this era, need to respect the eldersand significance of being like a deep rooted tree with its roots deeply entrenched in the culture and tradition of the land.
The dignitaries were felicitated with mementos and tulsi plants on this solemn occasion by our beloved Director. The event was indeed unique for it celebrated the glory of Nari as Narayani.
