Secondary Sports Meet 2017-18

Apart from commemorating success or victories, sports meets also aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit, leadership and camaraderie.
New Horizon Gurukul organized the Annual Sports Meet (Secondary) 2017-18 on 4th Nov 2017 at New Horizon Engineering College Ground upholding the aspect of true sportsmanship, righteousness and integrity.Dr Mohan Manghnani, honourable Chairman was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Ms Sargam Manghnani, the dynamic Director of New Horizon Gurukul also graced the sporting event as the guest of honour.The sports day began with the invocation song on Lord Ganesha by the school choir. The Chief of guest hoisted the flag signaling the start of the Sports
Meet. The inspection of the four houses, Abhimanyu, Arjun, Bheem and Ekalavya by the chief guest was followed by March Past and Oath Taking ceremony. The students solemnly pledged to defend and strengthen virtue, fairness and team spirit. This was followed by the lighting of the torch that symbolized the light of spirit, the struggle for victory and goodwill.An outstanding display of synchronisation, amalgamation of various sports and a well-rounded work out performed by the students of Class 5 and 6 set forth the extravaganza of Annual Sports Meet. It was followed by a spectacular Yoga Display by Class 8 students. These exciting performances were succeeded by track events. The parents also enthusiastically participated in sporting events and showcased their physical prowess.The trophy for the Best House was bagged by Ekalavya house. Best athletes in various categories were adjudged and honoured. The whole day was extremely exhilarating for all the Gurukulites and marked the fervor, zest and exuberance towards games and sports.
