The students of New Horizon Educational Institutions (NHEI) have once again demonstrated their ever-growing support to the armed forces. On Thursday, 17th November 2016 without much fanfare, they handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh towards the Army Welfare Fund. According to Indian Army officials , this gesture by NHEI fraternity comes barely a month after they responded in large numbers to a call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send Diwali greetings to the jawans.
“In the presence of NHEI Chairman Dr Mohan Manghnani, around 20 students from New Horizon Public School (NHPS) and New Horizon Gurukul (NHG) handed over the cheque to Major General K S Nijjar, General Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area. We are touched by their gesture,” says an Army officer, who coordinated the event…….
He said top contributors from each school were selected to hand over the cheque to Indian Army…….
“This institution has been constantly supporting Indian Army for some time now. This is inspiring to the fraternity,” he adds. He said NHPS Principal Mrs. Sandhya Raman and NHG Principal Mrs. Sheela Balamurali were also present…….
