UPHAAR-2024

Uphaar, a two-day event held at New Horizon Gurukul on 6th and 7th January 2024, was a vibrant showcase of talent, creativity, and social responsibility among the student community. The school’s quadrangle transformed into a lively place adorned with diverse stalls, featuring handmade artifacts, a painting auction, game stalls and delightful food stalls. The primary objective of Uphaar was to instill a sense of social responsibility in students. The other objective was to foster skill enhancement among students. Through active participation in the planning, organization, and execution of Uphaar, students had the opportunity to refine their marketing and advertising skills, gaining valuable hands-on experience that extends beyond the classroom setting. The diverse stalls provided a multifaceted learning environment. Over the course of two days, the event catered to different sections of the school community, with primary students and their parents visiting the stalls on the first day, followed by secondary students and their parents on the second day. The proceeds generated from the event were dedicated to various NGOs in Bangalore, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community. By linking the event’s success to a charitable cause, Uphaar aimed to cultivate a spirit of philanthropy and a commitment to making a positive impact on society among the students. Uphaar, therefore, emerged not just as a platform for skill development but also as a celebration of creativity and a testament to the potential of selfless acts in benefitting the wider community. The event successfully blended education with real-world experiences, leaving a lasting impact on the students and contributing to the betterment of society through charitable initiatives.
