Event Details:
Grade VIII students of New Horizon Gurukul embarked on an enriching educational trip to Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in history and culture. The journey began with a visit to the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) Museum, where students explored ancient artifacts, followed by the magnificent Lotus Mahal. They were awestruck by the Narasimha monolith and the Vittala Temple, famous for its musical pillars and intricate craftsmanship.
At Anegundi Village, students witnessed a captivating Yakshagana performance, immersing themselves in Karnataka’s vibrant storytelling tradition. They also explored Anjanadri Hills, believedto be Lord Hanuman’s birthplace, blending mythology with scenic beauty. The Vijaya Vittala Temple, a masterpiece of Vijayanagara architecture, fascinatedthe students, especially itsintricately carved stone chariot—aniconic symbol featured on the ₹50 note. At Purandara Mantapa, a serene riverside pavilion, they learned about Purandara Dasa, the father of Carnatic music.
The trip also included a bonfire on the second evening, fostering camaraderie in a lively atmosphere. The students enjoyed a comfortable hotel stay, gaining profound insights into India’s architectural heritage while creating unforgettable memories. This immersive experience deepened their appreciation for the nation’s rich cultural legacy and historical marvels.
