Bandhan 2026 – Celebrating the Joy of Togetherness
New Horizon Gurukul celebrated Bandhan 2026, a vibrant parent engagement programme for Grade I, based on the enchanting theme “Bal Leela.” Inspired by the playful childhood of Lord Krishna, the event brought together around 250 parents and children in a heartwarming celebration of love, family, and Indian traditions.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer, ceremonial lamp lighting, and a graceful welcome dance by the teachers, setting a festive and devotional tone. Parents and children captivated the audience with lively cultural performances that reflected their creativity, confidence, and strong family bonds.
Interactive activities such as Katha Krama, an epic-themed ramp walk, and engaging games added excitement while encouraging teamwork and appreciation of India’s rich cultural heritage. The announcement of the Rolling Trophy further enhanced the spirit of participation and camaraderie.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the National Anthem. Bandhan 2026 was a memorable celebration that strengthened the partnership between home and school while creating cherished memories for every family.
New Horizon Gurukul with a Twist aims to give parents the opportunity to step into their children’s shoes for a day. This event is designed as a blend of experiences for parents, filled with nostalgic moments and the revitalization of fond memories from their own school days.

“Happy Sunday Mornings @ New Horizon Gurukul: Where Community Meets-Joy!”
New Horizon Gurukul hosts bi-monthly Sunday events for parents, featuring ZUMBA, Yoga, sports, and creative activities like pottery and painting. These sessions strengthen bonds between parents, teachers, and the school, fostering a positive and supportive community.

Overdrive 2026 – A Celebration of Commerce, Leadership and Innovation
New Horizon Gurukul successfully hosted Overdrive 2026, its flagship student-led inter-school commerce fest, bringing together over 550 participants from 17 schools across Bengaluru. Planned and executed by students under the guidance of faculty members, the two-day fest provided an enriching platform to explore the dynamic world of commerce, business, and entrepreneurship.
The event was inaugurated by Rashma Raveendra, whose inspiring address encouraged students to embrace innovation, leadership, and lifelong learning. The occasion was further graced by Vice Chairperson, Ms. Sargam Manghnani and President Mr. Surya Bajaj, who motivated participants to make the most of the opportunities the fest offered.
Overdrive featured a wide range of engaging events spanning finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, law, diplomacy, hospitality, stock trading, and strategic decision-making. The competitions encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, and practical business skills, while the lively socials session provided participants with an opportunity to network, build friendships, and celebrate together.
Outstanding performers were recognised with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates. Overdrive 2026 concluded on a high note, reflecting New Horizon Gurukul’s commitment to nurturing leadership, collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial excellence through a truly student-driven initiative.
The Science Fest is a celebration of curiosity, innovation, and the limitless world of scientific exploration. Featuring engaging events in Coding, Medicine, Psychology, Forensics, Investigative Journalism, Architecture, and Sustainable Fashion, the fest offers hands-on learning and creative challenges. Planned and executed by our senior secondary students, it reflects their dedication to holistic development.
At New Horizon Gurukul, students actively participate in the annual homa, gaining hands-on experience in performing rituals and chanting mantras. Guided by learned pandits, this tradition fosters spiritual learning and cultural connection.
New Horizon Gurukul organizes its Annual Day every two years, a grand celebration that showcases the artistic talents and cultural values of our students.
During the Annual Day, students perform a variety of acts that bring these themes to life, highlighting virtues like truth, righteousness, and devotion. The event also includes a felicitation ceremony where students are recognized for their accomplishments.
Our Gurukulites have travelled across the globe, in search of knowledge and better career prospects. They are the pride of Gurukul.
Every year, Alumni Meet is organized by our school to bring our alumni together to share their experience, reminisce about their school days and connect with their peers.
Annual Sport Day 2025-26 (Primary)
The Annual Sports Day 2025–26 for Grades 1 to 5 was successfully held on Saturday, 24th January 2026, at the school quadrangle. The event celebrated physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship, embracing the theme, “The joy of sports lies in participation, effort, and fair play.”
The programme began with an invocation and lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the flag hoisting and oath-taking ceremony, creating an atmosphere of pride and enthusiasm. The highlight of the day was the exciting track events, where young athletes showcased remarkable energy, discipline, and true sporting spirit under the careful guidance of their teachers.
Winners were honoured during the prize distribution ceremony, and the event concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. With enthusiastic participation and wholehearted support from parents, the day proved to be a joyful and memorable celebration of teamwork and perseverance.
Annual Sport Day 2025-26 (Secondary)
The Annual Sports Day 2025–26 for Grades VI to XII was successfully conducted on Friday, 6th February 2026, at the NHCE Ground. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
The programme began with an invocation, followed by the flag hoisting, oath-taking ceremony, and lighting of the torch, symbolising discipline, determination, and fair play. The Sports Meet was then formally declared open. Students enthusiastically participated in various track events, including 100m and 200m races, obstacle and hurdles races, and the thrilling 4×100m relay races, showcasing remarkable energy and team spirit.
The winners were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. The event concluded with the lowering of the flag, vote of thanks, and the rendering of the National Anthem. The event marked a proud and dignified end to a well-organised and memorable celebration of sports and teamwork.
Gatha – Shri Ram Mandir ki
On 3rd January 2026, New Horizon Gurukul organised a spiritually enriching programme, “Gatha Shri Ram Mandir Ki,” celebrating the timeless values and cultural heritage of Lord Shri Ram. The event featured a soulful musical narration by Shri Mohit Shewani, accompanied by the renowned Hriday Band from Ayodhya.
Through devotional bhajans, dohas, and engaging storytelling, the programme beautifully highlighted the history and significance of the Ram Mandir, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere. The event also served as a meaningful learning experience for students, reinforcing values such as truth, compassion, courage, and righteousness. The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony and a vote of thanks, leaving a lasting impression of faith, unity, and cultural pride.
National Science Day – 2026
National Science Day was celebrated on February 28th 2026, at U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, Bengaluru, to honour Sir C. V. Raman’s discovery of the Raman Effect. The event, themed “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat,” saw participation from 1,001 students across 66 schools.
New Horizon Gurukul participated in multiple events, with its Science Quiz team qualifying among the top six out of 42 schools and securing Second Prize in the finals. The celebrations concluded with a valedictory function attended by eminent scientists, where the winning students were felicitated with certificates and gift vouchers.
Culmination Grade 1 to 4
The Culmination Day celebrations for Grades 1 to 4 were held with great enthusiasm, showcasing creativity, culture, and integrated learning.
Grade 1 presented “Pashu Vani – Voice of Animals”, delighting a large gathering of parents and grandparents with vibrant performances. Grade 2’s programme, “Tara Sutra – Stories Written in the Sky”, beautifully combined science with the performing arts through drama, music, dance, and multilingual presentations.
Grade 3 showcased “Lok Puran – Folk Legends of the Land”, taking the audience on a cultural journey through Tulu Nadu and highlighting its traditions, language, and beliefs. Grade 4 presented “Bharat – The Great March Forward”, a powerful tribute to India’s journey of growth, resilience, and progress.
Overall, the event reflected students’ learning through engaging and meaningful performances.
