The Atal Tinkering Laboratory at New Horizon Gurukul was inaugurated on 06-01-2022 by Mr. Surya Bajaj, President, NHG, along with Ms. Sargam Manghnani, Director, NHG, in presence of the Principal Ms. Sandhya Singh, Accounts Dean Mr. Jayashankar, all coordinators, ATL in-charge Ms. Poonam Naik and teaching staff.
Atal Tinkering Labs is a national level program by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog). The objectives of the programme are
- To create a work space where young minds can develop innovation skills and sculpt ideas through hands-on and do-it-yourself projects.
- To empower our youth with the twenty first century skills of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, design thinking, social and cross-cultural collaboration, ethical leadership and so on.
- To create opportunities for the young students to work and learn in a flexible environment and help build innovative solutions to India’s unique problems.
The students presented projects like Robotic arm, Obstacle avoider for blind people, 3-D printing, Automatic hand sanitizer dispenser, Smart city and Burglar’s alarm. With the establishment of the Atal Tinkering Laboratories, New Horizon Gurukul students will be given the free space for thinking, developing aptitude to explore, experiment and learn.
