Inter School Activities

The National Mathematics Talent Contest (NMTC), organized annually by the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI), aims to identify and encourage students with a passion for mathematics, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to tackle challenging problems innovatively. About NMTC The NMTC is one of India’s most esteemed mathematics talent tests, designed to inspire young minds to explore their mathematical potential. AMTI, a pioneering institution in mathematical education, has been conducting NMTC exams for several years to promote excellence in the subject. Merit certificates and prizes are awarded to deserving students selected in the final round. Objectives of NMTC

• To recognize and nurture students with original and creative thinking in mathematics.
• To encourage students to attempt unfamiliar and non-routine problems.
• To assess and enhance general mathematical abilities at different grade levels.

Participation Categories Students can participate in NMTC based on their grade levels, categorized as follows:

Examination Structure NMTC unfolds in two stages, conducted offline:

• Stage One: A two-hour multiple-choice question examination was held on 31 August 2024, with a total registration of 161 students. This stage identifies 10% of students from each category who then qualify for the final round.
• Final Stage: A subjective examination was conducted for 3 hours on 19 October 2024, with 16 students appearing in this stage.

Awards & Recognition AMTI will award Merit Certificates and Prizes to deserving students who qualify in the final round, recognizing their outstanding mathematical skills. Why Participate in NMTC?
