Empathy towards Animals Session 2025
Event Details:
A special session on Empathy and Compassion towards Stray Animals was conducted for Grades V and VI by Ms. Prerna Chakraborty from STRAW (Stray Relief and Animal Welfare) India. The session aimed to develop sensitivity among children towards animals and help them understand their behaviour.
Ms. Chakraborty explained the reasons behind the actions of stray animals, shared simple ways to identify whether they are harmful or not, and addressed common superstitions associated with them. Through interactive discussions, students learned the importance of coexisting peacefully and responsibly with animals.
The students participated enthusiastically, asked questions, and clarified their doubts. The session inspired them to treat animals with kindness, reinforcing values of empathy, awareness, and humane behaviour.
