Guru Purnima, also known as Vyasa Purnima, commemorates the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyasa. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu calendar month of Ashadh. It is a festival dedicated to paying obeisance to our teachers and gurus for all the knowledge we’ve received from them and seeking their blessings.
On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, students of New Horizon Gurukul presented a special assembly. The event began with vedaghosha. The students performed a skit and a dance highlighting the importance of a guru (teacher) in one’s life. Students from Grades 3 to 12 were present in the assembly, witnessing the entire program whereas the students of Grades 1 and 2, saw the program virtually in class rooms. Students depicted examples from ancient Indian history and highlighted how the Gurus from all time periods played an important role in their lives.
