Our children teach us what life is all about.”
Universal children’s day was established in 1954 on 20th November and is celebrated every year to promote togetherness among children worldwide. It is also the date when in 1989 the UN general assembly adopted the Convention on the rights of the Child.
People of all communities play an important role in making Universal Children’s day relevant for their respective societies and nations. Many schools and educational institutions make an effort to inform children about their rights according to the Declaration of the rights of the child.
New Horizon Gurukul celebrated International children day on 20th November 2017 with great enthusiasm. Children showed up in colorful clothes geared up for the celebrations. A wonderful performance put up by our teachers, left our students enthralled. Our revered principal Mrs. Sheela Balamurali addressed the children on the day showering them with her wisdom and blessings. She elaborated about child being the father of man and urged all of us to cherish the “child” in each one of us.
Snacks were distributed to Gurukulites and staff as a token of celebration. The day had happy faces all around.
