Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated on 28th November,2023 aimed to instill a sense of pride and appreciation for Karnataka’s heritage among the students while promoting cultural awareness. The event commenced with a warm and heartfelt welcome extended by students of Grade 7. This was followed by performing a pooja to Bhuvaneshwari devi and the lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries then hoisted the Karnataka flag, accompanied by the singing of the state anthem, “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate.” This solemn moment set the tone for a day filled with cultural festivities.

Outstanding students and teachers who excelled in the Kannada Talent exam conducted by the Government of Karnataka, were felicitated during the event. This recognition not only celebrated individual achievements but also motivated others to strive for excellence.

To enrich the students’ understanding of Karnataka’s history and cultural significance, the speakers shared insights into Karnataka’s journey and its contributions to the nation. Students from various grades participated in a series of cultural performances that showcased the diversity of Karnataka. Melodious renditions of different Kannada songs by the choir, enthralled the audience. The program also included classical dance forms like Yakshagana and Bharatanatyam. Each performance reflected the essence of Karnataka’s cultural tapestry. The Kannada Rajyotsava celebration at New Horizon Gurukul was a resounding success, fostering a deep sense of pride and cultural awareness among students.
