CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATION-2021

NEW HORIZON GURUKUL celebrated Constitution Day, also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’, on 26th November 2021 to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India. The existence and successful survival of ‘Democracy’ in such diverse condition is its backbone. To reinforce the significance and importance of constitution, on 19th November 2015 the government of India declared 26th of November as Constitution Day in remembrance of the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr. B R Ambedkar.

The occasion was celebrated by conducting Special Assembly. The celebration started with a speech, taking us on the journey of our constitution, from its history to its present day form, by Aasra Bhardwaj of grade VIIF. Tiny tots of grade I displayed the message through placards highlighting their duties as students. The purpose was to educate children about their responsibilities and create civic awareness. This thought was followed by an oath taken by the students. The assembly ground echoed with the words, “WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA…………”. A special session was conducted by Ms Achla Singh explaining in detail the meaning of the Constitution, the Preamble, and the Directive Principles. Social Science Department created a “Memory Wall” which was displayed in the school lobby. It had photographs of eminent personalities, special events, important procedures and carried messages from the constitution.

As a co-curricular activity, New Horizon Gurukul provided a platform for students of grade V, VI, VII and VIII to put creative thoughts on ‘Constitution Day’ in the form of poster and collage making activity
