Independence Day-2023

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated, at New Horizon Gurukul, with great fervour and enthusiasm on 15 August 2023. The day commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, Mr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava, Head of Electromechanical Systems Section, ISRO, and other dignitaries. The programme started with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the national anthem. The chief guest was then invited to address the gathering.

Mr. Srivastava, in his speech, emphasised the importance of contributing to society and adding value to everything one does. He motivated the students to work for the betterment of society, and in turn, the nation. His words of wisdom were truly inspiring.

The programme had some beautiful musical renditions by the students of primary and senior classes. The students showcased the passion they had for our country by dancing to patriotic songs. It was a sight to behold, and the energy was truly contagious.

One of the most mesmerising moments of the celebration was the dance drama presentation about the unsung women freedom fighters. It was a tribute to the women who fought for our country’s freedom. The students not only portrayed the courage and bravery of these women but also the struggles they faced in their journey towards freedom.

The perseverance of the students, the coordination of teachers, and the encouragement from the school management were evident in the programme.

The ceremonious celebrations came to an end with the vote of thanks and sweet distribution.

The 77th Independence Day celebration was a perfect example of how individuals can come together to celebrate and uphold the spirit of freedom and patriotism.
