Republic Day marks the celebration of the empowerment of Indian citizens to select their own government. The constitution of India is a huge document which lays down procedures, powers, duties, fundamental rights and directive principles of Government of India & Indian citizens. The governing principle of the Indian Constitution is “of the people, for the people and by the people”, which signifies that the power is vested in the hands of the citizens of India.

New Horizon Gurukul joined in the festivities and celebrated the 73rd Republic Day. The national tricolour was hoisted by our respected Principal, Ms. Sandhya Singh. This was followed by the celebrations of the day. Speeches were given in English, Hindi and Kannada by our students on Republic Day. A song by the choir led by the music teachers filled the air with patriotism. Two solo dances were performed by our students. There was also a yoga display by the students.

Live telecast of the program was viewed by all Gurukulites on school’s facebook page. The celebrations came to an end with the distribution of sweets.
