Visit to Visvesvaraya Technological Museum

As part of National Science Week, 40 Gurukulites and science teachers from New Horizon Gurukul had the rare opportunity to engage with Dr. Utpal Tatu at Visvesvaraya Technological Museum. In an interactive session on “Science-Backed Strategies to Mitigate Infections,” students posed insightful questions on infectious diseases and modern diagnostics. Dr. Tatu, a distinguished IISc professor and pioneer of India’s first RT-PCR kit for COVID-19, praised their scientific curiosity. His startup, Equine Biotech, revolutionized affordable diagnostics, earning recognition from the Government of India and Karnataka. The session was an inspiring encounter with a true innovator in medical science.
Students also visited the international exhibition “Vaccines: Injecting Hope” to explore advancements in immunization. The event was an inspiring experience, deepening their understanding of scientific innovation and public health.

Objectives:
